During High Density Storage development process we evaluated the environmental aspects of the products at each stage of its life cycle. 

Life Cycle Assessment

High Density Storage is manufactured in Durlangen, Germany, by Steelcase. Thanks to the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method, Steelcase can quantify the product's environmental impacts to set the stage for further improvements. This method, based on ISO 14044, is selected by the European Union for environmental evaluation. It allows us to measure the environmental impact of our products throughout their lifecycle.

High Density Storage Environmental Certifications

Product Environmental Profile (PEP). Based on ISO 14021, its purpose is to communicate precise and verifiable information on environmental aspects of the product during its life cycle.

Blauer Engel. This German environmental certification is awarded to products with a low environmental impact.

Indoor Advantage. This product is currently going through the Indoor Advantage Certification process, meaning that the product should meet tough indoor air quality standards.

PEFC. The wooden components are PEFC certified (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), ensuring that wood originates from sustainably managed forests.

E1. The particle boards comply with the "E1 standard" guaranteeing a low level of formaldehyde emissions.
